Since 1992, generous donors have helped us provide more than $5 million in funding to Decatur City Schools.
Our mission is to promote and enhance educational excellence for all students in Decatur City Schools.
Why the Foundation?
The Foundation distributes funds for special projects and programs that provide our students with educational opportunities above and beyond the standard curriculum. We provide an ongoing and dependable funding source for additional programs and resources not covered by budget dollars.
Are Donations Tax Deductible?
Yes. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, which means your contribution qualifies as a charitable income tax deduction.
Is the Foundation a Part of DCS?
The Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and operates independently of the Decatur City Schools. The Decatur City Schools Foundation is guided by a Board of Directors of local residents and community leaders committed to educational excellence and the future of our children.

How We Measure Results
We partner with the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama (PARCA) for analytical information on our system compared to neighboring systems and peer systems across the state. We also receive data from Decatur City Schools for individual projects. Visit www.parcalabama.org for more information.
